Guide to the Aftermath Campaign
Some of these steps may seem obvious or tedious but the aim is to cover everything someone new may need to know.

Aftermath is a community set around an unique online campaign for Games Workshop's Warhammer 40000, a science fiction hobbyist Tabletop Battlegame of The Far Future. Our aim is to provide a fun environment to share and encourage the hobby, game and it's fictional universe. Both within the site, forum and beyond.

The campaign is based after the conclusion of the 13th Black Crusade but on the far side of the galaxy. We've had several campaigns and wars before and are currently in the midst of another one. Pitching the Forces of Order (FoO) and the Forces of Disorder (FoD) against one other into climatic battles across a strategy enabled map of a space sector.

How to take part?
Firstly you'll need to register an account on the site, follow this link and the instructions given.
Next you'll need to pick a side in the conflict.
The Forces of Order: Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Inquisition, Eldar, and Tau - Click Here
The Forces of Disorder: Chaos Space Marines, Chaos Daemons, Traitor Guard, Necrons, Dark Eldar, Tyranids and Orks - Click Here
You can use any number of armies you wish for this campaign, but you must choose a side (see above). Once your side is chosen, you cannot change it during the course of the campaign.
Soon you'll be able to access the dedicated discussion board where you'll be able to see your chosen sides plans and strategies and will be able to join in the discussions for future campaign attacks and defences, as well as most importantly have access to the battle reporting form to log your battles and make your own grizzled war torn mark on the battlefields of the Aftermath Sector.

The Campaign Map
Displaying notable systems of the Aftermath sector as well as levels of control. The higher the percentage of control means the location zone is more stable and in order, the lower the percentage of control the more unstable and disorderly the location. Also by clicking on the map or left hand menu the map gives information about the warzones, some of this is technical like the zone/object type, resistance level, and controlling bonus', but also includes background details, descriptions and history, which could be incorporated into a nice narrative to make a battle of Warhammer 40000 feel extra special.
There are many different object types including Systems, Space Colonies, Singularities, Moons, a Reality Corridor, and several kinds of Planets including a deadly Prison Planet. For now I'll gloss over most of these and will separate them into two groups, Systems and all of the others types. This new campaign has begun with seven systems, three in relative strong control, three out of control and one system evenly split between. By pressing the buttons labelled Jump To System, you'll be able to view inside each system, as one might already expect you'll find the planets and other object types with their information and control percentages.
Each Warzone has a level of resistance, this to some extent represents the zones importance or size as there would be more or better defenders, defensive positions and means. In games terms a high resistance makes for a tougher battle, so it would take more battle reports to effect this region then it would take for warzones with lesser resistance levels. Additionally some areas give a bonus for the controlling team often in a different area on the map, this comes into affect only while the control of an area is within the extreme 30%, ie below 30% for the FoD and above 70% for the FoO. While the controlling bonus is active for your side there is an increased effectiveness to reporting a battle on the affected areas.

Posting a Battle (or Reporting a Battle Report).
The Report a Battle form is very simple to allow you to enter your gaming victories with ease. The link to this should be found on your teams dedicated board inside a thread entitled "Battle Report Form".
You may report up to five battles per day, the instructions on the form are pretty straight forward. Choose a Warzone, Choose Your Army, Choose Opponent's Army, Choose Type of Game Played, then there is the optional space for the Battle Report Initiative.
More information on the Warzones can be found in the Campaign Map, as well as objectives, targets and plans are likely to be found inside your teams discussion board.
Of course you are limited to using one of your sides armies, but you are not limited with what your opponent may play with, nor do you have to play against people who are taking part in the campaign. After all it would be quite silly to imagine Orks for example creating stability and order from defeating an Imperial defence force, but so much more likely that Orks could create more instability by fighting amongst themselves or against other forces bent on creating chaos and disorder. Likewise it's quite reasonable for FoO to fight FoO, maybe it's discipline or training, or the destruction of rogue factions.
Lastly as you will see you are not limited to the type of game you can play, this gives you plenty of ways to tally up victories so that you may report up to five of them per day. There isn't much else to say, check out the Duelling game for quick playable and fun action online against other Aftermath members.
