Deathguard: Maggots of Despair
«

The "Maggots of Despair" are a large sub-faction of the Death Guard Legion. It is believed that the Maggots of Despair are primarily composed of elements from the Death Guards 5th Great Company. They adhere to the combat doctrine's taught to them by their Daemon Prince Primarch Mortarion, and they are fiercely loyal to him.
Not much is known about their leader Encephalatitus. Although he is usually aboard his command cruiser, The Contagion, Encephalatitus has been known to lead assaults on important targets. When he does, it has always been at the forefront of his Plaguewing Terminators. There are rumors and speculations that Encephalatitus was once a Deathshroud. His size and stature, along with his weapon of choice, a manreaper, help to facilitate this unconfirmed rumor.
Currently, the Maggots of Despair are in favor with Nurgle and have his fatherly blessings.
Here are a few pictures of my pustulant ones. Enjoy

They look wonderful in that special way that only Deathguard can.
Oh and also, everytime I see that Sorcerer model painted by anybody but FW I love it a little bit more. It will definettly be on the list when I get round to my Red Corsairs.

Since I cannot stand the Obliterator miniature, I had to come up with one of my own.
May I now present the Lee Brothers........

I still need to do some touch-up painting as well as add a bit more detail, but for the most part they are tabletop ready.

Disgusting.
Are they modelled on the old Greater Daemons?

Why thank you
Yes, they are the old rogue trader era GUO. I really love the old model and since I have 6 of them, I decided to put them to use.
I have also used one for my "Encephlatitus" chaos model. All I really did to him was add a sythe. They are just too "cute" to do too much conversion work on. It is hard to mess with perfection
