As the title states, Eadsplitta and I are having a big Apocalypse battle.  20,000 pts per side......yes, we both have issues..... Grin

Orks vs Nurgle

Since we have both been hitting Flamberg, we decided to see who was "top dog" in the hunt for the relic (we all know who is top dog, but since big daddy nurgle is a benevolent god, we will pretend to give the orks a chance).

Not everything is painted, but who has a fully painted 20,000pt army?  Anyway, we figured we would post a running account of the fight throughout the day.

We hope you enjoy!

End of turn 1:

The Orks take out a few Plague Terms and Deathguard CSM.  My beloved Plague Tower is immobilized and one of my Warhound Titans has all of it's shields dropped.

The forces of Nurgle hammer on the battlewagons and the Nob bikers.  A squad of burna boyz is forced to flee after it's battlewagon is destroyed, and the bikes are pushed back after inflicting several wounds on them.  With Epidemius on the board, reaching the high mark of 20 wounds is easily obtained.  My pustulent ones are at full strength.

Onward to turn 2.....after lunch Grin

Turn 2 Highlights:

Ork kommando's led by Snikrot attempt a sneak attack upon Epidemius.

One of the Traitor Titans is severely damaged by the concentrated fire of the Ork Gargants.

Ghazghkull leads a combined assault of stormboyz and Nobs in Mega Armor right up the center of the Nurgle force.  Typhus and the plague zombies are destroyed in this epic battle.

Nurgle daemons began reinforcing the Deathguards position, and the forces of Nurgle begin a counter offensive.

10 hours later......turn 3 Highlights:

Epidemius' position holds, and is able to defeat Snikrots commando's.

The two Daemon Lords and four Great Unclean Ones come to the rescue of the remaining Deathguard CSM being attacked by Ghazghkull.  Ghazghkull and the Mega Nobs are defeated.

The Plague Wing Terminators continue pushing up the left flank, which opens the door for the two soul grinders to drop in behind the Ork lines and contest the Ork held objective.

The Chaos Dread formation, which has been bogged down by the stubborn Ork Ard Boyz, is violently assaulted by the combined forces of Kans, Dreads, and Deff Kopta's.

The Daemon Prince Mamon is banished back to the warp.

And with the end of turn three, we decided to call the game.  10 hours is more than enough  Grin  By a very slim margin of 2-1,  the chaos forces of Big Daddy Nurgle prevail !

Very nice game! I'm loving the old Armorcast goodies as well.

Wow, what an awsome game this was, long but awsome to say the least. 'Eadsplitta had the battlewagon  line move as fast as possible towards the corrupt chaos plaguemarines, I had the frist trukk drop it two warbosses and Meganobz in to the middle of the fight.

The Nobz on bikes on the right flank played with the terms all day and were killed off by turn three.

The three stompas and gargant shot up the two warhounds, reaver and plaguetower with only dropping shields only to have them come back online in the following turn. I did however manage to cripple the plaguetower a little and cause some damage to a warhound and gun  crew stun another one to get a break in the shooting coming from those titans.

Snikrot and the kommandos tried a balls out attack to the back line at Epidemius, but the super charged nurglings were just too much for them.

The 1st and 2nd turn were going great for the orks with killed a ton of plaguemarines , typhus, and a few others, but the daemons coming down in two waves spelled the end for me. I did take no less then 4 great unclean ones to stop my killing spree in the middle of the board.

Since both these forces have been fighting well in Flamberg killing spacemarines , tau, eldar and some guard , 'eadsplitta has come to form an alliance with these maggots of despair.
