And that's supposed to be more steamlined than what we currently have?
Loyalty was just the generic name we gave it at time because it was somewhat universal to all races. Call it what ever you want.
Schaf alot of us do get attached to our character, we spend time and effort making fluff and a backstory for them.

And I'm in no way saying "don't get attatched to them" or "don't have a doctor" or what not, what I'm saying is that if you're introducing a secondary points system linked to a shop it can be also used to better manage things such as "ranks" and quests rather than have them be somewhat loose ends and ill defined and bothersome. I always hated having to think of an end result and reward for a quest myself, and I got attatched to my characters none of which survived past level 7 because of their lack of guns.
That said when a large portion of the races are "traitors" and creatures and people of dubious moral standing "loyalty" doesn't strike me as a universal trait.

Hence the name favour for them. And to some extent they are loyal or as the discription says appears to be loyal (so the boss doesn't expect the knife in the back)
The Quest and rank are still seperate and unique identities (the shop add ons are slight upgrades but quest and level bonus gives new unique equipment and abilities)

yes but that's what I mean by combining them to make it more streamlined and less labour intensive on the part of GMs having to OK and clarify and sort everything.
Just an idea mind it's fine as it is even if it hinders playing a duel against anyone available for a laugh because if they're on the same side it'll be bad.

People wanted a more RP team based element so we gave it to them. Have allies, bad stuff can't happen then

which people out of interest?
I liked dueling to be a fun and whimsical fight to the death myself.

I know life got in the way and I lost track of this place towards the end, but I still want a list of names of people to hold responsible.

Calm down guys, lets not get off on the wrong foot. I know lots of people have worked hard on duelling and that people do get attached to their characters. I know when you have worked hard to design something that when someone thinks that the design isn't perfect people can get upset about it. But I also know that everything can be improved so we must listen to all new ideas. To be honest we should only have a list of who helped with duelling so we can thank them for their efforts.
Not a warning just saying lets focus on what's important.
If people get so attached characters maybe they should not die but the more often you loose the more severe the damage sustained. From my glance over the "loyalty/faith" etc rules they seem ok. At the end of the day if the packages are balanced its how the dice roll comes up that determines how well your characters do.

Yeah sorry if I seemed more antagonistic than I was, first I saw of the new bits added on and whilst they look OK I still think if we're adding something on we could make it more functional and bring on different elements when I can be arsed I'll write something up towards that effect if no one objects.

No objection on my part. I think any improvements are welcome. Although im unsure if a redesign is necessary but nothing wrong with tweeking.

Wow! I finally was able to get my first set of Duels played. I had a great time. Thank you J8 for walking me through them. I am sure I won't remember everything, but I think I can muddle my way through now.
If you haven't had a chance to duel yet, please do so. I think it is a fun and relatively easy way to get battles logged. More importantly, you get a chance to interact with someone from the "other" boards and with any hope, make new friends.
Give it a try, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
