The Darkle Knights Project.

I'll finish up the tactical squad soon and put pictures up, but I'm making my own space marine chapter. The Darkle Knights, they were dusk knights but Darkle sounds less common (it means "to become shadowy and indistinct and is a rough synonym to dusk). The chapter home world is both death and night world. I did have this whole alternate "unauthodox" structure to the chapter as well written down (on paper and pen no less) somewhere so I'll also share that along with musings on army lists and tactics as it gets going.

I am really excited to see what you do with the models. It sounds like a great concept to me.
Can you tell us what the chapter badge is? or is it top secret?

The Chapter Badge is a 6 pointed star (with an elongated lower half) upon a shield. I was trying for 7 points on a shield but it got a bit complicated to pull off on a shoulderpad. They're painted in greys and dark blues with silver edging and metal bits and all skin is pale and sickly because they don't get allot of sun.
The tactical squad isn't modeled that much, though characters and veterans will be done more so (especially seeing as I have to alter all the Blood Angels iconography on the space hulk models to make them fit in). I'm thinking of having any Stern/Vanguard in the future be Dark Angel models with the cloaks being a really deep blue based on Necron Abyss Foundation Paint (it's my first attempt at using the new foundations and washes with the painting and I do like it).

I am surely tempted to have a captain with a feathered cloak from some giant man eating bird and have his company called the nightwing but I don't know if it is a cool idea or is just my inner comic fan messing with me.

The Emperor's Dark Knights want a word with you. Our lawyers will be waiting. >_> Do I have to start using their full, comic name again, just so we know who is who?
In all seriousness? The Nightwing thing. Do it. I stick as many references in as I think I can legitimately get away with. It's wonderful to see dawning realisation on people's faces at the end of a tough game.
